Welcome to Wherex (Chinese name: 问处; hereinafter “the App” or “the Service”). This agreement is between you and WLinger (website: undefined; “we,” “us,” or “our”) and governs your download, installation, and use of the App and related services.
Please read this agreement carefully. By using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App and uninstall it.
This agreement and the undefined together form the entire agreement between you and us. If they conflict, the Privacy Policy governs personal information processing.
1. Description of the service
1.1 What we provide
Wherex is a mobile app that helps you record and manage personal items. Features may include (as available in your version):
- Creating, editing, viewing, and deleting items
- Hierarchical categories and locations
- Taking, selecting, and cropping item photos
- Barcode scanning to assist data entry
- Expiry reminders and list filtering
- Local ZIP backup import and export
1.2 Nature of the service
- The App is local-first: core data is stored on your device by default. We do not provide cloud account sync at this time (if we add it later, we will notify you and update these terms).
- We may update, adjust, suspend, or discontinue features as the product evolves and will try to inform you through release notes or in-app notice.
1.3 Conditions of use
You agree to:
- Have full legal capacity to enter into this agreement, or use the App under a guardian’s consent and supervision;
- Use a device you are entitled to use and bear your own network and device costs;
- Comply with this agreement, the Privacy Policy, and applicable laws in your location.
2. Accounts and data
2.1 No registration required
The current version does not require an account to use core features (advertising is described in Section 3).
2.2 Your data
- Content you enter (items, categories, locations, photos, etc.) belongs to you.
- By default, it stays on your device. You are responsible for backing up your data.
- We are not liable, to the extent permitted by law, for loss caused by device damage, loss, OS upgrades, uninstallation, or user error. We recommend regular backups.
2.3 Import and export
Backup import merges or overwrites local data as described in the App. Verify that backup files come from a trusted source. You bear the risk of anomalies or loss from importing third-party backups.
3. Free service and advertising
3.1 Free use
Core features are currently free. We may show Google AdMob ads (e.g., app open, banner) to support operation.
3.2 Ads and paid features
- Ad delivery may vary by region, network, and inventory. We do not guarantee fill rate or revenue.
- We may later offer a one-time “remove ads” purchase or similar options, subject to Apple App Store and Google Play rules. Details will appear in the App when available.
3.3 Third-party links
Ads or links on the About screen may point to third-party sites or services. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. Their own terms apply.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Disrupt or interfere with the App or related systems;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App (except where law expressly permits);
- Use the App for unlawful activity or to store or distribute unlawful content;
- Access another person’s App data on their device without authorization;
- Use automated means to scrape data, falsify statistics, or interfere with advertising systems;
- Engage in any other conduct that violates law or public order and good customs.
We may warn, restrict, or discontinue service for violations and report suspected illegal activity to authorities where required.
5. Intellectual property
- The App and its UI, icons, copy, code, and documentation (excluding content you enter) are owned by us or our licensors.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use them for commercial purposes without our written permission.
- “Wherex,” “问处,” and related branding are our trademarks. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
6.1 “As is” basis
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that:
- The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific needs;
- Reminders will always fire on time (subject to OS power policies, notification permissions, etc.);
- Scanning, photo, or other assistive features are 100% accurate.
6.2 Cap on liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or punitive damages arising from use or inability to use the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us directly for the App (currently zero for the free version, or the amount you paid for features such as ad removal).
Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer protection law.
7. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may suspend or terminate part or all of the Service for maintenance, upgrades, policy requirements, or force majeure. You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time.
After uninstallation, local data is removed unless retained by the system or by you. Anonymized statistics and crash data already transmitted are handled per the Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to these terms
We may revise this agreement. Material changes will be communicated through in-app notice, website announcement, or similar means. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the App.

9. Governing law and disputes
9.1 Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (mainland), without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
9.2 Dispute resolution
Disputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may bring suit in a people’s court with jurisdiction at our principal place of business.
10. Miscellaneous
- Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
- If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a right does not waive that right.
